- 4L Water
- 1 Whole chicken
- 1 Corn, cut into 3 pieces
- 2 Carrot, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 Onion, peeled and cut into half
- 1 Potato, peeled and cut into large chunks
- 2 Tomatoes, quartered
- 6 Red dates (dried)
- 1 tbsp Chicken powder
- 1/2 tsp YumYum, or MSG
- 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Prepare a 6L stock pot
- Place the chicken, corn, carrot, onion, potato, tomatoes and dates in the pot
- Fill with 4L of water and bring to a boil
- Skim the scum off the surface of the soup with a fine mesh sieve, then reduce the heat to low and cover
- Cook the soup, covered, for 5 hours on low heat
- Once the 5 hours are up season the soup with chicken powder, MSG, and salt
- Divide between bowls and serve
