Enoki mushrooms coated in a light batter and fried until golden and crisp, finished with five spice seasoning. Simple to prepare and best served immediately.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup corn flour
  • 2/3 cup self-raising flour
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 tbsp Dynasty five spice
  • 1 packet enoki mushroom

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine corn flour, self-raising flour, and water. Mix until smooth and set aside.
  2. Trim the base of the enoki mushrooms while keeping the bundle intact. Discard the root section and separate slightly.
  3. Add the enoki mushrooms into the batter and coat evenly.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Carefully place the coated enoki into the oil and fry, turning once, until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Remove from the oil and drain well.
  6. Transfer to a bowl, sprinkle with Dynasty five spice, and toss to coat.
